Some perspective today....

It's Saturday....Sigh*

A day of cleaning & enjoying it.

There are some times when a good clean is just down right annoying, but today...

today it is nice, WHY?

Because cleaning is always better when you have someone to clean with.

yes. it is.

Today is the 1st official day that my parents & auntie LOIS are back from their CRUISE.

My sister LIBBY got to go & I was so excited for them to go and get away to the Bahamas!

(We didn't go because....it would have been the same price for my 9 month old daughter as it were for me to go...oh and 2 year old. end vent)

Saturday's have become a ritual in our family for Aunt Lois to come over in the EARLY mornings.

Zach goes in and has youth pastor/director stuff to do.... so it is a nice touch to our Saturday's.

Many of my friends have their hubby's home with them on Saturday's, but as many of you know...

Ministry needs are never done.

Aunt Lois is here. She is playing with Livia & watching the OLD SCHOOL Mickey Mouse episodes with Tristan. She is a GREAT multi-tasker woman. :)

(thank you, auto correct, but yes...multi-tasker is a word. I just created it.)

This is not a post about cleaning, because LAAAAAWWWWRRDDD knows I am not the one to right about that & this little pregnant bff of mine is. (follow her)

This post is dedicated to all the women that are always "longing" for another season.

Something God/my husband has been showing me is that I am soooooo

ungrateful.

I just long for the next season...

Let me be the 1,000th person to say it.

In a Mommy's world.... there is something always needing our attention.

It can be 10 finger nails.... or the Mt. GAZUMBAG pile of laundry

(word #2 i invented today)

There is always something that needs to be done/said/wiped/brushed/cleaned/talked to

etc. etc. etc.

Yesterday, I was reading this post....

it hit me like a bad cup of soup from the local chinese restaurant. (yep. it happened.)

Here in America it is THROWN at us to always need/want more.

We always need to be doing SOMETHING to get MORE. more. more.

Honestly, this is something on my heart(which means God is dealing with me on this)

So I do not have a big ROUND ABOUT story about how this all going to make sense and I am now all good and have it all together.

I am struggling in my "I want this... I want that... I need this to happen so this can happen."

(yes, very vague, but I will spill the beans later)

I will tell you what I do know...

I know that the Bible is TRUE.

I know that Jesus is real & alive in me.

I know that HE is for me & not against me.

I know that GOD knows my life story...so my ~~"hiccups"~~

meltdowns are no shocker to him...

A story I thought of the other day...

A woman was diagnosed with cancer & not much time given to live...

She couldn't get out of bed.

Barely, feed/clean herself.

*GET THE PICTURE?*

She was so scared & overwhelmed.....

She needed her Bible...

But couldn't read it....

Instead of letting Satan take her down....

She got up out of bed....OUT OF BED....

& stood on her Bible....

actually STOOD on her Bible because she knew that her mind needed to grasp it..

She then wrote this song...

& is the one singing it.

She changed her view.....

her perspective....

to heaven's point of view!

So, Get with it Beka....

I have been planning this guest post for over a month now, & I am so excited the day has finally arrived that Claire is here on my blog.... POSTING about her man. She truly inspires me with how much she talks & loves about her husband and family. She recently wrote a post that ROCKED MY WORLD. My sister, Libby & I actually called each other & said, "DID YOU READ CLAIRE'S latest post! OMG! That was so powerful! I was crying!!"

Needless to say, I am a FAN of hers & Libby is a fan.

I have asked a couple of my favorite bloggers to write about their Supermen! :)

I’m madly in love with a man I met when I was 17. From the moment I laid eyes on him, it was unmistakable that he was just that--a man. In a group of college boys, there was something about him that set him apart. He carried himself differently, with a kind of strength that rippled when he moved.

He had a clear direction. A driving force that lent him tunnel vision. He wasn’t given to distraction or idleness. He was set on a course. His strength was evidenced in the amount of time I saw him spending on his knees. His humility was shown in his outstretched arms and tear stained face. This was a man given to God. A man who wanted nothing less from life than daily passionate encounter with a living, fearsome Creator.

I envied his strength. I was a messy 17 year old with questions and hopes. I was excitable, distractable and whimsical. I admired this man I’d met. I thought at least I could hope for his friendship as an older brother and example. I found that I’d caught his eye… little did I know then, what he saw when he looked at me.

He didn’t see messy. He saw passionate. He didn’t see questioning, he saw wisdom. He didn’t see distractibility, he saw teachability. He didn’t see whimsical. He saw visionary. He saw things that I didn’t know were there. He saw wife. He saw mother. He saw friend, companion, lover, partner. He saw bride.

On a chilly January evening, he told me what he saw when he looked at me. I caught my breath and wondered how? When? When did I, with my floundering immaturity catch the eye of a man with so much strength? When did I catch his heart? And how on earth did I manage it?

I was young, confused, unsure. But this man, this man who loved me… he was so capable, strong, guided. I leaned on his strength.

The day that I walked down the aisle with that man waiting for me at the other end, his ever confident smile, I knew with certain hope I would be guided by him for the rest of our lives.

I love this man because of the way of he’s always loved me. Because he takes delight in my imperfections, and sees beauty in my insecurities. I love him because his vision is my vision. I love him because he leads our family with the Bible as his map and the Holy Spirit as his compass. I love this man because I always have a strong place to run to in his arms. I love this man because he still stands out as a man among men. He has integrity, honesty and vulnerability. He has humility and often is the first to say he’s sorry. He’s quick to laugh and slow to judge. He leads with his heart and listens to God.

He is a father who disciplines and admonishes, but more importantly, he’s a father who tickles and chases. He is a father who builds snow castles and blanket forts. He’s a daddy who cuddles, snuggles, kisses and holds. He’s a father who weeps, who loves, who teaches. And he is a man who is not afraid to work hard for those under his care. He gives selflessly, generously, and fearlessly.

He is my superman. Not because I know that if I needed him to, he’d fly in to save the day. But because he already did that. When he saw that messy 17 year old he also saw a future… our future. He swooped in, took my hand, and led me to it. And it’s my plan, to never let go of his hand.

This past week I was honored to do a senior session. I was so happy to do a session.... I took the cold winter off here & it was beautiful.

A book REVIEW for YOU!

Ok Friends. Y'all know how much I love Focus on the Family. I love their SUPPORT for the family. I love their 800 hotline for counseling. It's all so good! Well, Their new President of Focus is an advocate for adoption and foster care. All I can say is, "AHHHHHHHHHH!" Every podcast lately from my iPhone has been about parenting & ADOPTING. God is so Faithful. EVEN IN THE SMALL DETAILS! :)

Anyway, at the beginning of this week they had Gary Thomas on their talk show and talked with him about his new book.

Well...knowing how I am... I went and downloaded it on my iPad and i haven't been able to get PAST THE 2nd CHAPTER. I have to go and grab my journal and write down things...... AHHH! It's so goooood! This is definitely a book that you want to buy and highlight over and over... and write in and mark and SHARE.

So here I am...

Something I am learned from my dad.

My dad is an awesome pastor. He is NOT a prideful man. He is gentle with his words, but speaks strength when he needs to.

On top of running a church... God placed on His heart to start a Christian school in our small town. He knew that this was God's school from the beginning. This is not a blog about our awesome Christian school.... Although I love our school so much!

It's about my dad and his life lessons. He always gives me something to think about. Now, I'm no debater, theologian, or great known speaker.
So what I am about to say is this .....

My dad spoke about the man in the Old Testament.... The man named Uzzah........

Yes. The man that no one really knows about, but we all might know this story.
The man that *touched* the Ark of the Covenant......& then died.

2 Samuel 6:6- "the oxen stumbled and Uzzah reached out his hand and steadied it.....7) The lord got mad, & struck him dead.....(Beka version)

My dad just MENTIONED this subject tonight. He didn't go into great detail, but it got me thinking.....

What have I tried to *touch* that is not designed for me to touch?

A certain situation?

A certain *timeline*?

A certain plan?

A certain opinion?

I'm not saying God is going to strike you dead if you do.
But, I am wondering.... What opinion have I given? What "budding in" have I done? What blabbing have I done?

1 goal of mine for this blog is to NEVER TREAT it like my best friend.

I don't want to come and complain.... Vent..... And use it to hurt people with my words.

I always want to be an encourager.

There are some things I am still learning in this life..... :)

New Season. Part 1. GUEST POST-Lauren

Hey Friends! I have had something on my heart for a couple weeks now, & today is the day you get to read from someones heart. I've asked a couple people to do a GUEST POST at my blog on the SEASON's they are in..... ALL different.... ALL from the heart. :) Here is LAUREN. Who is from my other home COUNTRY...... Hey! I’m Lauren, I blog over at Living Loved. I’m from Brisbane, Australia and my little blog features photos, recipes, God stuff and happenings around my city. Beka asked me to share with her readers about the season I’m in at the moment and I’m honoured to do so!

It’s tough sometimes to contemplate the season that you’re in, because it requires a looking inward and really examining our own hearts. When I was asked to guest post I hesitated to write it because I knew I’d have to spend some quality time identifying where my heart was at!

This season of my life could be defined by three words Hope, Renewal and Love. At the moment, God's teaching me what it is to be His daughter and I am opening myself up to the love He has for me, more than I ever have before. I thought I knew God's love, and perhaps I understood His love in my head (as much as one can understand it!), but at the moment He's really teaching me that it has absolutely no limit. I went so long believing that the love I knew the Lord had for his children applied to everyone but me... I was putting limits on the maker of Heaven and Earth! This has been particularly relevant to my struggle with depression and the moods I find myself in sometimes. I believe that through this time God will give me the strength to work at overcoming the hard times, to live abundantly.

The most challenging part about this season is being vulnerable. I have to make an effort to open myself up and let my knowledge of Jesus overwhelm my insecurities and doubt. I also have to trust and hope in Him no matter what the world tells me, acknowledging that God knows me most intimately. While it's hard, I know I'm going to grow from this season. I also know that by being vulnerable I will come to have a closer relationship with Christ. I know I serve a true and just God who only wants the best for me, I just have to have faith!

To finish I want to say a big THANK YOU to the blogging world of Christian woman (especially Beka!) you're an incredible inspiration to me! Thank you for sharing your trials and triumphs with me through your posts, you've encouraged and convicted me more than you know and I feel privileged that perhaps I can do the same for others.

Isn't that word just awesome? Steady. I mean, seriously... I would name my child it if it was ok. I just don't think "Steady Fox" would sound right. ;)

As a mom..... I have my days where I can't find 1 mate of socks for the LIFE OF ME. ! :(

I see the pile of laundry..... somehow growing...with vengeance....

My kitchen sink is not "clean." (sorry, flylady!)

My entry way is one big PUDDLE of melted snow and boots EVERYWHERE.

Ok. Enough of me complaining.... You see... all these problems are minor, right? BUT... to a mom...there just little stones BLOCKING my well. Keeping the WATER to come to me.... blah.

Well, I don't know how she does it. But Kari Jobe has done it again..... She brought me through post partum with Tristan.... Her & MONK (yep. )

Now, she is just giving me HOPE & her newest song is OUTTAAA THIS WORLD. Okay, Her newest CD is LEGIT. I mean... It's EPIC. Everyone should go BUY IT!

I enjoy changing my house up/rearranging.

Kari Jobe's newest CD is up there with the RASCAL FLATTS CD!!!! :)

I just recently got 2 new robes. I've wanted one for so long, but never wanted to SPEND the $ for a nice one, so I prayed.

Christmas. I got 2.! 1 long-1 short! God delights in the small things!

I feel extra pretty when my nails are painted.

I feel like I could conquer the world when my eyebrows are waxed. LOL

Blogging is therapeutic & I believe everyone should try it!

Photography started to become too much for me last fall.

I wasn't prepared for it all & for everyone that loved my work.

I guess I should start believing in myself more.... Oh & get more organized.

I'm making some hard, but BIG changes to B* pretty for 2012.

I love writing with a pencil..... much more than a pen!

I adore my wedding ring. Both bands. Zach bought my WEDDING band at a local jewelry shop & it's antique like that matches PERFECTLY with the other band. They weren't "made" for each other, but they work! :)

It use to be "GOD CALLING" which is just a devotional that I have had since high school.

I got more out of that book alone, than any devotional. ;)

*sigh* yes, yes, I am. Not as bad as I use to be. Now it's only with a couple things, but in high school. YEP!

My marriage & children.

hmmm. I had many things POP into my head, but the one that hit my heart & made my gut hurt was....

"To be the best wife for Zach...... which would automatically make me the best mom." :)

Self-control.

Just this year I learned how I am a stress eater & how I use food as a comfort.

I have lots! :)

This will be the first time I am posting about "our JOURNEY" on my blog. I have talked about how we WANT to, but today marks the first day we are going to talk about it!

Adoption.

A word that is near and dear to my heart. A word that means SO MUCH to my husband.

christmas 2011

When I was 7 or 8 I began to talk about how I was going to adopt when I got married. I didn't think about praying for the man in my life to have that longing... I just knew it was something I was going to do with my husband. He was in it no matter what.

When Zach and I were engaged I began to tell him my ideas.

He wasn't excited. He said he never thought about adopting. I was on the HIGH CLOUDS OF LOVE/ENGAGEMENT, so I didn't think anything of it.

We got married, knew we wanted kids earlier than the "Normal American" waiting time.

We found out we were pregnant with Tristan on January 1st, 2009.

Tristan took our hearts instantly. He was the cutest thing I had ever seen.

Zach's heart began to heal every time he would hold Tristan. WE call him our JOY, because after everything we have been through this past 2-3 years. He has brought so much JOY in our lives. We laugh until we cry with what he is saying/doing.

We announced we were pregnant with Livia at Tristan's 1st Birthday Party.

She was a gift straight from the beginning. I knew in my gut she was a girl.

When she came into our world... Zach's heart leaped as he saw her for the 1st time.

It was VERY emotional.

Tristan- Our 1st born son. OUR JOY. A gift from Him.

Livia- Our 1st DAUGHTER. A gift. Our treasure.

Zach's heart began to heal while raising these two beautiful kids.

Liv is almost at the 9 month mark. Tristan is 28 months.

Our dear friend, Amanda, who just recently joined BLOGGER. Go FOLLOW HER!

spoke at church in November. It was "ORPHAN SUNDAY"...

She is a VOICE to this generation about orphans & foster care!

Here she is with her beautiful family.

Oh & masculine.

She is our ANGEL. She is helping us & guiding us along our JOURNEY.

Today we went & got prints done. Yes, I had to go to the Sheriff's office & get printed.

we had to go around "back" to the jail to get printed.

Superman said to me...

"This is a place I bet you never, ever thought you would be walking into."

But every step was worth it.

Our family has a lot of love. I am excited to be on this journey.

Today was exhausting.

Today I felt like a puddle.....

Do you have these days? I'm sure you do, since we are human.

The winter makes me FORCED to sit and think. To rethink and rethink about how I am doing this life.
Am I living to my full potential? Am I trusting God more and more? Am I fully depending on Him through these "unknown & waiting times".....

Am I being the best mom?

How am I treating my husband?
Do I worry more about my physical appearance than my spiritual appearance?
DO I WORRY?

This life can be tough.... & pushing you to your limits.

It's who you truly put yourself around that matters.

Your family. Your friends. Your children.

I look around at the blessings around me & then... It happens....

Every trial, every burden, every anxiety....

It's melted away.
& I let Go.

It's true. We finally got snow yesterday & our house is so excited!

All the family time.

Hands down.

When we are all STUCK in 1 house. SNOW DAYS. It's a beautiful thing for me!

I love when Superman is stuck in the house with me! He gets to relate & I get to depend on him.

After all, He is MY Superman! ;)

There is never a time I don't look at you and think... "How beautiful."

God knew exactly what He was doing when He formed you and created your perfect nose, tiny lips, & adorably unique hairline! When I look into your eyes I see Jesus. I often think, "How can someone so young & tiny have the eyes of the GOD of the Universe?" Oh... but silly me. He is your Creator & your FATHER.

You are 8 months now. Growing so fast. You are 14 lbs & too wiggly to get an accurate length.

You sing when I sing. You dance when daddy dances. You cry when Tristan cries.

You adore your brother more than any other person in the room.

You LIGHT UP when you see Gramma.

You start to SQWEEL when you see Aunt Lois!

You are deathly afraid of public bathrooms.

How did I blink and 8 months have gone by?

You don't appreciate when I try to give you belly time.

Week of Prayer.

This week at my home church. Yep. the church that Zach & I are working at is the church that my parents have stood beside for 30 + years. Good roots.

My dad is a PRAYER warrior. It is something that is so evident in his life. He is the kindest, sweetest, most generous person I know.

He wants everyone to CAPTURE the VISION of PRAYER.

He started 6AM & 6PM PRAYER services this whole week.

I wanted to share a song with you that has really been a blessing to me lately.

Oh. Yes. I'm a KARI JOBE fan. Her HEART for worship is beyond words.

This past weekend, I got the opportunity to travel up to the FROZEN TUNDRA of Minnesota to a Women's DAY AWAY Conference.

My good BLOGGER/REAL LIFE friend, Ria from ---> "LIFE AS A WIFE"

We went last year and it was wonderful!

This year we brought a bigger group of girls with us.

WE had such fun talking & just sharing stories!

Needless to say...

The coffee shop was our favorite place to sit and just be.

Goodbye 2011. Hello 2012.

2011 left me with the flu. I feel much better this new day. Still weak, but feeling so much better than how I was feeling last night. As I was in my bed this AM..... thinking about this NEW YEAR & how I had to miss church. (when i miss church i feel like i am walking around without a shoe.) I was thinking of everything that 2011 has taught me. It has brought some new life lessons to me. For those, I am thankful.

Words are limited on how excited I am about 20.12! I am so very excited for this next year & what it is going to bring.

I always LOVE to have 1 word for the NEW year.

When Tristan was about to join our lives.... I found out NEW YEARS DAY 2009 that Zach and I were going to be PARENTS. a month before that... God gave me the word.... *LIFE. BRING LIFE*...It made me so happy because here I THOUGHT it had something to do with my daddy's life. :) AHHH. It did, & so much more. Tristan was born that September! :)

Liv's year(2011) was Simplicity & Harvest. God showed me that LIV.... my treasure! :) She is such a sweetie. She was to bring me simplicity & that ZACH and I were to work in the HARVEST. WORRY ABOUT THE HARVEST! :)

Now..... THIS YEAR.

~~THE MOMENT Y'ALL have been waiting for.....~~ The moment that I've been going back and forth about sharing! :)

My word for this year is....... RAIN.

He spoke,

"We must have rain before we can bring in the HARVEST."

All these tears that have gone on in 2011...... they have been collected by Him in a bottle.... he is waiting to POUR OUT those tears on us with SHOWERS OF BLESSING.

I love my Superman.

Yes, OOOH Yes I do!

We didn't "hit it off" like you see in the movies.

BUT

I loved him.

The moment I heard his name.

Yep. His Name...

Zacharia David Fox.

But he was oh so mean to me.

or so.. I was mean to him. ;)

God had a different plan.

Our LOVE story isn't what we thought it would be...

or how I planned.

But, it was God's.

God wrote it out & made it into the best ending....

TO my dear single ladies in waiting...

Wait. Oh wait. & then wait.

Wait on God's timing...

His timing is KEY on a good foundation.

Take this time to prepare for your man.

Marriage is hard.

It is not Roses & butterflies every day.

But it is a sacrifice of your flesh...

(I'm talking about the BUILDING years!)

Zacharia, My Superman, is one patient man.

I thought I was a selfless person & didn't struggle with pride......

but then I got married....

had a baby....

& KA'BOOM.

Post Partum set in & every inch of my selfish flesh was being taken out.

Zach came to my rescue through it all...

On the days I just cried and cried when he walked in the door...

he was so gentle with me. His words so kind.

He would hug me & say, "We will get through this!"

I tear up thinking about that dark time in my life.

I truly believe God GAVE us marriage and HE designed it to be like this...

the way we look at our spouse is suppose to HELP us see how Christ views us.

I am a mess.

Zach is strong.

When Zach is weak.

I step up to the occasion and help him!

SO that BOTH of us see how GOD would be...yet we only see a SMALL..TINY... portion of how Christ loves us!

During those dark days I suffered with Post partum..... all I could do was listen to Kari Jobe.

When I slept.... I slept with my Bible.... & listened to Kari sing...

"I know that you are for me.!"

I pray that YOU, reading this right now... would know that the KING of KINGS and the LORD OF LORDS..... is for you!

YES, YOU!

IN this moment... whatever it may be... God is beside you... with HIS arms around you saying...

YOU CAN DO THIS!

YOU CAN FINISH!

YOU CAN WIN!

YOU CAN GET THE VICTORY over this depression!

You can stand back up and walk with me!

Don't stop!

Don't quit!

I will help you up!

Let's go!

And at the end of this tunnel....

I've always called myself an "OPEN BOOK." Sometimes, too open. Let's be honest. Our mouths are hard to control at times. It's just US being WOMEN... "WE have rights... we fought for our rights.... so we are going to use them."

Don't get me wrong. I am proud for being a woman... I am proud that we have rights... So put your BANNERS, SIGNS, & guns away... I am not about to BLAST women.

I am going to suggest we RETHINK how we talk. Something the LORD has been dealing me with is..."My opinion."

Twitter. Blogger. Facebook. Text. Bible Study Group. Church.

We can GIVE our opinion at any moment. Sometimes it's needed. Sometimes it's not.

I was lying in my bed the other night & Zach was next to me reading his book. I asked him what he was thinking about and he said, "Nothin."

*It's how many good conversations get started. I really don't know why these convo's don't end up in the Love movies*

Moving on....
Zach then got the hint and said..."What are you thinking about?"

I said..."How I can talk too much... or say too much."

I'm sure he thought, "FINALLY! LAAAWWWRRDDYYY!"
*just kiddin. he is the sweetest man. never would he think that*

He said, "How So?"

I then began to pour my heart out like my vessel was broken. Floods of thoughts and words began to pour over that room & now I am going to ATTEMPT to share them with you.

....no... we are not the weaker sex. Because I think that what I am about to say can help the MEN folk' out too. I just want us to THINK about what we say before we SAY it. Yes..."Think before we speak."....."Think before we type.." ..."think before we text."
But I want to think about it differently... Why speak..? Is there a point to it? Will this bring life? Will this help the situation? Will this correct the person for the BETTER? Point them in the right direction? Or will this hinder them? I told Superman that I think Talking is selfish. (yes. i must have been very, very, very, very HYPED UP! ) If you think about talking.... it's all about how you tell a story.... how you feel... what you think.... what you know..... what you've heard..... what you've read.... It's for people to listen to you.... to hear your opinion... to hear your story... to hear your dream....to hear about the "blog you read" .......

Bottom line. I just told Zach that I want to be careful.... be MORE careful.... in what I say.... & what I do.

Tweeting. Will this help? Will this bring JOY? Or will this hurt? will this *offend*? (which I know you can't keep everyone happy.... not gonna attempt that either..gets you into a MESS)

Facebook Status.... People abuse this. end vent.

The list could go on and on and on.....

*GETTING TO MY POINT*

I am reminded of Mary, Jesus' mother....

How she PONDERED EVERYTHING IN HER HEART....

She didn't run around telling people she was carrying the SON OF GOD.... or that Jesus just walked on water at the age of 2..... or that Jesus spoke a different language at the age of 4. (hey..those things could have happened)
She wasn't a proud woman that wanted her VOICE TO BE HEARD.

She was quiet.... She was careful.... she was strong.

I'm not trying to SCARE* anyone off, but the part in the PASSION that effects me THE MOST..... It shows Mary's strong spirit, but also that she was a woman...... a mother.......

It really takes so much to be a Mother these days.... to "defend" your child....or guide your children.....

We could ALL use some more MARY in this world.. . . . . .
ponder. let JESUS take care of our trials and "getting justice"

Do you have someone that brings such INSPIRATION to your soul? I sure do & I am going to blog about a couple of them.
* Please note*
If I don't blog about you-it's not b/c I don't find any inspiration in you! I believe we can ALL inspire each other. These are just a couple people that I want to *shout out*.

It should come as NO SURPRISE that the lady I am going to blog about is my younger sister, Libby.
She is full of life, spunk, Jesus, Love, & Inspiration. She has a realness about her that is rare. She loves Jesus with everything in her. She is passionate. She is fiery, but oh so sweet. She fly's by the seat of her pants, but loves to be organized. She is incredibly IN LOVE with her husband. She has a love for him that puts "THE NOTEBOOK" to shame. She is his RIGHT HAND gal & is completely strong enough to carry herself. She is my best friend & sister. She is not only an awesome wife, but an amazing mentor to me.

She is wise beyond her years.

She is gorgeous.

She can make me wet my pants with how funny she is.

Although ~~God~~ Isaac has taken her away to Virginia. (i know God would never ask me to go thru that.)

She will always be missed and loved.

She inspires me with her love for God. She inspires me to not only enjoy the BIG things, but to savor the small things. She is always happy, even though they are "college poor".....

When her and my dad are around each other.... the whole room is laughing...

Discouragement.

It can come in any size/form. IT can come out of NO WHERE. It can be an every day thing. IT can be with 1 look at your favorite website.

It isn't a pretty thing, but as humans........ we are going to deal with it.

My question to my blog ladies is... How do you handle discouragement?

I've been reading this new awesome book------> that will completely ROCK YOUR WORLD!

You can get a copy of the book I am reading.... for really cheap right here....

This book is definitely in my TOP FAVORITE BOOKS... of ALL TIME. It talks about the struggle in this life.... the struggle with weight, the struggle with the balance of family time + me time... the struggle with a job and family.............. EVERYTHING.

It is rocking my world..... & would you like to know something that this good little church girl just heard about?

Yes. I've grown up in church my whole life... & this verse just JUMPED out to me in the book....

Hebrews 12:11--

"No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening--- It's painful! But afterward there will be peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained In HIS WAY. "

umm... HELLOOOOOO.

That hit me like a herd of elephants.

My {heart} leaped within me.

God has really been calling me to GO DEEPER in Him. He has really called me to take the next step to not only just pray and read, but to...*gulp* FAST things.

I am starting my list of things I want to *work on* starting December 1st.
Yes, I'm getting a JUMP START on my NEW YEAR's Resolutions.

2012 is the year that I, Beka Fox, will become a runner.

Yes, It's true. My brilliant idea of introducing SUPERMAN to PINTEREST has paid off.

I have wanted to do this to T's old crib.

& Zach has done it.

We have been in DESPERATE need of a new headboard.

OK, I didn't really want one until I saw PINTERESTS!!!

Let me tell you some things about having a son.

Having a son has rocked my world.

He brings such JOY to this non adventourous soul of mine.

He brings such new insight to myself.

He has brought to me LIFE.

That is the word that God gave me for 2009.

"LIFE"

& then Tristan came.

He is LIFE and brings LIFE wherever he goes.

When I was pregnant with him I was prophesied over that I would find

"restoration in worship."

I believe that is linked to Tristan.

Livia is 6 months today.

I took some pictures of her today. Nothing fancy & due to the rain outside, we took them inside with my beautiful lighting/studio . . . . . . .(kiddin)

Liv loves her mommy. She is seriously so sweet. Such a sweet little girl that I am blessed to call mine. She is a little thing. This shirt she is wearing is "6 months" & it tends to fall off her shoulders! Her hair is browner than Tristan's at this age.....(the lighting makes it look red in some of these pictures)
She has more hair than T did at this age too. OH! & I could talk all day about that Phillips CHIN & CHEEKS!!!! AHHHHH! BE STILL MY HEART! :)

Liv is getting more hair in, which makes me speechless. Ok. Maybe I just scream & go out and buy adorable little hair clips, etc. . . . . . JUST WAITING!!! :)

6 months. Half a year. Woa.

Those were my thoughts this A.M. as I looked at my iphone's date.

Liv has taught me so much in 6 months. She has made me a better mommy.

She brings out the good in people.

The good in me. I love her. She is like her daddy.

Livia's UPDATE + Pictures.

PRAISE THE LORD. Liv does NOT have to have surgery. We went to the doctor today for our 2nd opinion. The doctor was wonderful & just simply a DELIGHT! He explained everything so well & told us not to worry about the "bumps."

He mentioned that they are lymph nodes and that they are seen quite a bit for kids under the age of 12. The words "lymph nodes" are scary to us adults, but for babies they are quite normal in flaring up because of a simple word.....

BIRTH.

I will be scheduling some consistent meetings with my favorite chiropractor!

IN OTHER NEWS.

WE just got our family pictures taken for the FALL by the lovely TAYLOR. :)

This past Wednesday was our church's FALL FESTIVAL for our kids.

It was so much fun!

1. The case of missing baby lisa. Seriously. I tear up every time I see her picture. Only Jesus knows where this precious baby is... but tell me.... Do you think it's the mom and dad? or what is going on?
Have you heard the latest news about her failing the lie detector test?

2. ground turkey in chili. gross.

3. Being fearful. Yes, I am a fearful person. I have been working on placing my strength in HIM. LORD- HELP ME! :)

4. Mean emails.
Words are my love language. So. be. kind. :)

5. Not wearing socks on these cold days.......
Ew. I am not a fan. I love socks. Have I every said that before? LOL! Because i really do.

Being festive is something I love/live to do. So you can only imagine that THIS time of year is something I look forward to more so than any other time of year. I love the leaves on the ground. I love the crisp cool air. I love the colors. I extremely hate the bugs. boom.

Something to complain about, right? Yeah, I know... I'm working on it. !

Well, I would just like to point out that I love...winter. Yes, In Iowa it can really get depressing come February.

But let me tell you why I love winter.

Besides not having any bugs. *Praise Him!*
Holiday baking.
Family time.
Crafts.
Snow days.
Boots.
Hats.
Gloves.
SOCKS-colorful ones at that!
Snuggling.
Cold nights under the blankets.
ELECTRIC blankets!
Hot Cocoa.
Ice Skating.
Family trips.
Oh. the list could go on and on.

Today I want to encourage you to not get the wintery blues.

There is always something good ahead. Don't get down in the dumps.

take delight in the small things this season. LIKE........

MY DAUGHTER rolling over and saying words like, Go, Mamma, HI, & WAVING!!!!!
*She is 5 months! She just started eating some BANANAS! :) (she loves them)

Yes we have things MARKED OFF. I promised myself that I would NOT let my busy life get in the way of this fall. I've been pregnant ~~for an eternity as it seems~~

for a really long time.

I didn't want to MISS OUT on my 2 year olds life because I was too busy with my (almost) 5 month old.

So... WE BRAVED all of this together! And let me tell you something....

IT WAS A SUCCESS!

No crying. No screaming. No CLINGY TO MAMMA. (okay. Liv kinda did, but she can't walk or crawl.... so she has a reason!)

It's been a beautiful FALL week & it's ONLY Tuesday!

Today we had a little MINI Shoot out in the front of our house.

WOA. Our tree out front is just amazing.

It's always the 1st to change colors in our town.

Today wasn't so cold or buggy. :)

So we were out and about.....

me too.

I have to remember that it's all God's timing.

God is not a God of Chaos.

but order.

I have to remember that HIS timing is perfect!

I am feeling a little overwhelmed.

I am so in love with this man.

He is so talented.

He just finished our kitchen painting.

The most exciting news from this past weekend is my sister RACHEL had her baby boy!

I am an auntie AGAIN!

She is a rockstar! I am so proud of her!!! :)

She did it with no meds & pushed out a 10 lb baby!!

She deserves an award!

The Farm.

I didn't necessarily spend as much time at the FARM house as my older siblings did, but there was always something so special about going out to "Aunt Lois' house" or "THE FARM!"

-You could run around all day and not have a care in the world.

-You could play in 1 of the 3 play houses. . . or climb into the tree house that was never finished...

-You could pet all the farm cats and the 12 new kittens.

-I would pet the doggie LADY and brush and brush her.

-You could eat the Tostino's pizza all by yourself. Aunt Lois would let you do that.... & then let you eat your face full of ice cream cones.

-Aunt Lois would let you sort mail with her old mail carrier box.

-You could go in the upstairs bathroom and count 100s of rolls of Toilet Paper.

-You could paint, color, ANYTHING you wanted.... on WHATEVER YOU WANTED....

play room walls, chairs, etc.

-I would "Water the plants" and Grandma would mop behind me.

-I would slide down the wood shoot into the basement.

(i wouldn't go in that basement at all right now. scary then. scary now.)

-You could hide things in the OLD tree trunk and think it was a secret spot only YOU knew about.....

later realizing every cousin had their special toy in there too.

-It's the place where we had to bring snowball, snowflake, midnight, daisy, & Buttercup to since my sister's and brother were allergic to the them. (cats.....we got them from her...)

*Aunt Lois may or may not have snuck 2 cats for Libby and I into our garage*

The Farm was freedom. It was paradise to us kids.

I was driving around running errands the other day when I thought about THE FARM. I instantly turned around to go take a peek at what once was my paradise. I was brought to tears to think of how it just sits there now. How it's old, rusty, house is caving in, shed is blocked by a number of old cars, garage is half gone. I looked at the yard that I once ran in and chased Lady in & swam in our little pool..... It now had grass over 5 feet.... You couldn't even see the steps to the house.

I closed my eyes and cried as my JOY(t) & treasure(liv) were napping in the backseat.

I cried. and cried.

Then.......

I began to hear my Aunt Lois' voice screaming, "lllaaaaaaddddddddeeeeeeeeeeeee-EEEEEEE E E E E E E. HERE LADY LADY LADY"

I heard my Grandma's laugh.

I saw my Grandma's walk/waddle into her kitchen to do her dishes.

I saw my Grandpa hugging my Grandma.

I saw Aunt Lois painting stars and the moon on our ceiling!

I could SMELL my 1st taste of COFFEE (age 7...i think!)

I could hear the TV playing the ANIMAL OLYMPICS... or RESCUERS DOWN UNDER.... or LADY AND THE TRAMP.

I realized then and there..... that we really cannot hold onto things of this world. That earthly possessions are just that.... possessions.

That 1 day... they will no longer matter. They will be gone. We will be gone.

I sat in my car and I saw & heard what TRULY matters.

Time & Family.

& I heard God whisper in my heart this question.....
