In every Season....

be thankful.
be giving praise to God.

When I see the temperatures that have been going around lately.... i cringe.
I wish I could say I get goosebumps, but far from it.

I love winter. Winter is my favorite season. I do love summer, don't get me wrong. But there is something about winter that is just so COZY. :)

Let me get to my point.

My daddy is a preacher. He preached an awesome sermon on Sunday morning about controlling the tongue.

Something everyone needs to hear. Every age group. every spiritual status. everyone.

My dad read in James 1.

"The tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your ENTIRE body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. "

James goes on to say that people can tame animals, but NO ONE can tame the tongue.

I have been hearing this over and over and over and over in my mind.

NO ONE can tame the tongue!

So I began to ask myself...

Why am I not letting God tame my tongue?
Why do I need to let everyone know how I feel?
Why do I need to hold bitterness in my heart towards that person?
Why do I believe that I can say what I want-when I want.

After all, in that VERY SAME CHAPTER.... (james 1:1)
IT SAYS.... "DEAR BROTHERS and SISTERS, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly. "

Verse 2: Indeed, we all make many mistakes. For if we could CONTROL OUR TONGUE, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.

The tongue is the key to living a perfect life.

The tongue is the key to make people feel complete or helpless.

Oh Lord,
In all I do and say. May it be pleasing to you. May my words be few and limited when needed. May everything that goes out of my mouth bring LIFE and FRUIT.
Use me to bring in YOUR harvest!

Amen.
